Possibilities with our 3D Scanner

With Faro as our main supplier, we have now arrived at the 5th generation 3D scanner with a unique combination of speed, accuracy and resolution. The compact and lightweight scanners can be taken on the plane as hand luggage and therefore enable us to provide our 3DLS services worldwide at low costs. In addition to mobile terrestrial scanning, we can now also offer Object Scanning for products (high accuracy) as well as Drone Mapping for mapping larger sites and infrastructure projects.

  • Preservation: Accurate 3D CAD documentation for preservation and protection of historical/archaeological materials and inventory.

Advantages:

  • Simple, fast and complete registration of the current condition of historical places or archaeological objects
  • Exact digital 3D registration of complex shapes of historic buildings and sculptures with a high degree of detail
  • Easily reference multiple scans of large objects using GPS and WiFi remote control
  • In combination with FARO SCENE and FARO As-Built, a complete workflow for documentation of historic buildings and archaeological excavations in CAD is delivered

3D Scanning for inspection and reverse engineering

Applications:

  • Reverse engineering: Copies of products and components for which no construction drawings and/or CAD data are available
  • Interior tensioning devices and fittings: Accurate 3D CAD documentation of complex ship, car or aircraft interiors as a basis for planning conversions
  • Production documentation: Complete 3D documentation of the production status of complex machine parts
  • Quality Control: Accurate 3D documentation and dimensional inspection of large and complex components such as rotor blades, turbines, ship propellers, etc.

Advantages:

  • Cost-efficient, fast and accurate 3D representation of the as-built geometry of large products
  • Automated in-process production controls enable comprehensive 3D inspection and checking of parts
  • Fewer rejects and correction work thanks to early and extensive 3D quality control

3D Scanning for process industry and digital factory

  • Brownfield costs can be reduced by 5-7%, correction work to less than 2%. *Timetables can be shortened by up to 10%
  • Efficient control and inspection of health and safety, and environmental regulations
  • In combination with SCENE and FARO As-Built for AutoCAD software, FARO delivers a complete workflow for industrial plant documentation in CAD

3D Scanning for civil engineering and surveying

Applications:

  • Project supervision: When excavations, bridges, towers, open mines, roads, railways, reservoirs or pipelines are to be constructed, the individual project phases must always be closely monitored to meet the requirements of the project.
  • Deformation monitoring: Determining whether the measured structure or object changes shape or moves. This saves time and correction work during construction.
  • Calculation of large volumes: When large quantities of loose material have to be measured, for example in ships, silos or in warehouses, being able to regularly determine large volumes is an important factor. Laser scanning allows fast, accurate and reliable dimensional calculations to be performed.
  • Quality control: Accurate laser scanning ensures that the final as-built situation matches the intended design and minimizes the chance of problems.

Advantages:

  • Time-saving, fast, simple and complete registration of the current condition of survey locations or construction sites
  • Digital 3D data recording and analysis of materials, volumes, structures and topography in real time.
  • The extra-long range, improved data recording and fast high-resolution data capture increase user productivity

  • In combination with FARO SCENE and FARO As-Built software, FARO delivers a complete workflow from scan to 2D and 3D end products

3D Scanner for shipbuilding

Applications:

  • As-built documentation: 3D laser scanning solutions allow ship hulls and components to be digitized where original drawings are missing or inaccurate (which is often the case with old ships).
  • Ballast Water Treatment (BWT), retrofit: Upcoming legislation will require the installation of ballast water treatment systems on board all ocean-going vessels. 3D laser scanning can solve challenges such as measuring limited space in engine rooms and recording reliable data for the retrofit process.
  • Ship repairs: 3D laser scanning provides a fast and accurate way to inspect ship components during repairs to ensure compliance with design specifications
